for Creative Learning

We don’t have to look any further than our talented teachers and staff to find immense creativity in Keller ISD.

Educator Grants

The Foundation funds Educator Grants each year to support out-of-the-box teaching ideas that help educators find newer and better ways to educate the children of Keller ISD. These grants facilitate unique and creative approaches that encourage higher levels of student learning, stimulate creativity and expand the existing curriculum.

Sebrina Brezina - 2021-2022 Recipient

Sebrina Brezina received a grant to buy picture cards for her STACC students. Picture cards are essential for STACC students to communicate, create schedules, social stories, calendars, rules, etc.

I’m ecstatic for the opportunity to use this grant to help make my classroom more successful. My students thrive on stability, continuity, and structure and this will help them to bridge the gap in communication between our world and theirs.

– Sebrina Brezina, elementary school STACC teacher

Pamila Nicholas - 2021-2022 Recipient

Pamila Nicholas used her grant to purchase supplies for students to create moving book trailers. This activity helps students to gain interest in new books that their peers are reading.

This grant brings me such joy! My sixth graders will be able to express their love of reading by recreating their favorite parts of the books they’ve read. Stop motion video creation has always been the highlight of my year. This grant will simplify the process for my students, as well as provide my students with the adequate materials needed for the creation of their awesome book trailers!

– Pamila Nicholas, middle school teacher

Angela snyder - 2021-2022 Recipient

Angela Snyder received a grant to provide classrooms with resources for a calm-down space.

Receiving this grant is an honor and means so much to me. It will allow us to create a calm down space in each kindergarten through third grade classroom. Students will be able to have a space to calm down and use tools that will help them to self regulate their emotions.

– Angela Snyder, elementary school counselor

Professional Development Scholarships

In support of Keller ISD’s core value of caring for teachers, we created the Employee Professional Development Scholarship program. Through this program, employees can apply for up to $1,000 to support their professional learning goals.

Ruth Morton - 2021-2022 Recipient

Our students and staff alike are suffering the effects of the pandemic in many ways, but significantly in their emotional well-being. I can apply the House of Shine training to the lessons I give district-wide, reaching so many students and aiding counselors in supporting their curriculum. Helping students find their “shine” and create more positivity in a very negative world is so needed right now!

– Ruth Morton, Guidance Curriculum Facilitator

Luisa Cabrera - 2021-2022 Recipient
Receiving this scholarship means I am one step closer to a brighter future, to working with and inspiring kids, making a difference for myself, children, and fellow teachers. It is a boost in confidence and a feeling of being valued. While the scholarship helps pay for some of the costs, it allows me to put more attention toward my certification. It also helps me become a teacher!

– Luisa Cabrera, Educational Aide
