Keller ISD community members, donors, teachers and administrators filled the room on April 1st at the Marriott at Champions Circle to raise money for the Keller ISD Education Foundation and celebrate the Keller ISD Teachers of the Year. The community rallied together to raise over $200,000 for the Foundation, a $60,000 increase from 2016.

The Rooted Gala featured CBS 11 evening co-anchor and Keller ISD parent Doug Dunbar as the host. After raising $10,000 over the Fund the Mission goal, Downtown Fever Band took the stage to celebrate and Keller ISD Education Foundation Board Chairman, Don Reid shaved his head as part of a fundraising incentive.

“We were blown away with the success we had this year,” said Executive Director Paige Bussey. “This community showed their support and that they are ‘rooted’ in the education and achievement of the next generation. We will be able to fund some really innovative programs and initiatives because of these donations.”
