The Foundation is thrilled to welcome five new members to its Board of Directors! This new term begins on July 1, the start of the fiscal year for the Keller ISD Education Foundation. We are fortunate to have a Board of Directors that are passionate about impacting education in Keller ISD. These additions will further strengthen the roots we’ve established in the community and we are looking forward to seeing what great things they will do on the Foundation Board. We would also like to thank these directors who completed their service on the Board: Anthony Solitario, Cecily Verloop and Elizabeth Young. Their outstanding service and leadership has helped the organization grow and continue to impact students and teachers in the district.

The Keller ISD Education Foundation welcomes the following Board Members:

Aly Layman is a nonprofit professional with more than 20 years of fundraising experience. She has solicited gifts in every way possible, through Annual Funds, Events, Major Gift Campaigns, and Peer to Peer online asks. As a double major in theater production and communications, she honed her stage management craft at Southwestern University. This training was a wonderful lead into a philanthropic career with a largely volunteer workforce. Aly believes that the right committee of volunteer leadership can take a nonprofit organization anywhere. Her degree set her up to prepare volunteers for the philanthropic stage.

Jennifer Vaughn brings over 20 years of experience in the public sector working for local government and public utilities. As a new resident to Texas, Jennifer quickly ingrained herself in the community by serving as Adjunct Faculty at Tarrant County College where she teaches Public Speaking. Previously, she served on several Chamber of Commerce boards, was President for the Coastline Community College Foundation, and played an advisory role on the Asian Business Association of Orange County and the Groundwater Replenishment Program. She managed public relations efforts for the Anaheim/Orange County Visitor and Convention Bureau and also served as Marketing and Communications Manager for an international economic development firm. Jennifer earned both a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and a Master’s Degree in Communication from San Diego State University where she also taught public speaking.

Mallory Estes was born in Kingsville, TX into a Navy family and moved over 25 times before settling in Keller. She attended St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, graduating with a BBA in Marketing and International Business and a MA in Business Communications and Public Relations. 2022 marks 10 years at BNSF Railway in her current role as the Regional Manager of Economic Development for the Southeast. In addition to working at BNSF, Mallory owns her own business, Twenty-Three Balloons Weddings & Events. Her husband also works at BNSF and together they have three amazing kiddos: Carter (9), Leighton (6), and Merrick (5).

Mary Garcia serves as Hagerty’s Director of Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging. In this role, Mary leads the strategy and execution to increase diversity and develop a culture of belonging across the company. Mary is an accomplished people and culture leader with recognized expertise in talent research and sourcing, diversity and inclusion strategy and consulting, talent management solutions, operations optimization, and talent acquisition. She is experienced in developing strategies, driving change, managing through ambiguity, building trust and gaining the confidence of key internal and external business partners. Mary is dedicated to fostering equity, access and opportunities that allow employees to achieve their full potential and an organization to amplify its mission. Mary holds a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and a Master of Arts in Sociology from Texas Woman’s University. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family on Lake Grapevine or cheering on the Dallas Cowboys & Dallas Mavericks!

Ryan Chance grew up in Keller and graduated from Keller High School in 2004. After graduating from Texas A&M University in 2008, he moved back to Keller to raise his family. He is a Senior Manager of Property Tax for Ryan, LLC. and has a strong background in finance and leadership. His wife graduated from Keller High School in 2005 and taught in the district prior to staying home to raise their two children – both of which are students in the district. Ryan has remained active in the community through a term on the Board of the Greater Keller Chamber of Commerce and he looks forward to serving Keller ISD in this role with the Keller ISD Education Foundation Board of Directors.
